Psyllium + FibreGum™ combines psyllium husk (Plantago ovata) which helps bulk up stools and/or eliminate debris in the intestinal wall - and FibreGum™. Recent studies suggest that FibreGum™ from African Acacia shows promise in decreasing inflammation and helping to close tight junctions in epithelial cells in the digestive tract. An ideal combination for better intestinal health.

Suggested use

Directions (adults): Take 1-2 scoops daily or as recommended by healthcare practitioner. For each 1 g of psyllium, mix with 30 ml of liquid (water, fruit juice or similar aqueous drink), stir briskly and drink immediately. Take before or after taking other medications or natural health products. Maintain adequate fluid intake and do not take before bedtime. Effects are seen 12-24 hours after the first dose and may take 2-3 days.

Precautions

Warnings: Consult a health care provider prior to use if symptoms worsen or laxative effect does not occur within seven days. Consult a health care provider if you are taking medications that inhibit peristaltic movement (eg, opioids, loperamide) or have symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or fever. Consult a health care provider immediately if you experience chest pain, vomiting, or difficulty swallowing or breathing after taking this product. Do not use if seal is broken. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place to preserve freshness.

• Contraindications: Do not use this product if you have difficulty swallowing. Do not use this product if you have diabetes mellitus in which blood sugar levels are difficult to regulate. Do not use this product if you experience a sudden change in bowel habits that has persisted for more than 2 weeks, undiagnosed rectal bleeding, or inability to defecate following the use of another laxative product.
